Jesus loves me

Hadley came through the procedure today well. The spinal tap went smooth and her numbers are strong, ANC of over 6000…. We are so blessed but it just does not get easier experiencing your child throw up, especially from Chemo. Oh how it can be intense…. She may be worn out and tired but we do know this –

Jesus loves me! This I know,
For the Bible tells me so;
Little ones to Him belong,
They are weak but He is strong.
Yes, Jesus loves me!
Yes, Jesus loves me!
Yes, Jesus loves me!
The Bible tells me so.

Beki and I are so blessed to have so many praying for Hadley and we must also continue to pray for those who are going through similar circumstances.

Grateful for prayers

Grateful for your prayers… This mornings clinic visit went very smoothly. Numbers are way up. Although accessing her port is a scary thing, she got through it and didn’t throw up. Major victories! Praising Him!

As a bonus, we got to meet one of the families that have been fed through our Hearts for Hadley campaign. ♥

Barf bags, napkins and hand disinfectant are necessary items in the life of a Leukemia patient while traveling in a vehicle. Stuck in line at Chick-fil-a is no exception. Mommy jumps into motion for Hadley throwing up at a time you are least prepared. Sometimes you catch yourself saying “why does this little girl”? and then you stop. You pause. You are reminded that, in the life of the believer, God

“works all things together for good” (Romans 8:28)

— and “all things” includes cancer.

Words of Comfort · March 5, 2016

“May our sons in their youth be like plants full grown, our daughters like corner pillars cut for the structure of a palace.”

If we are lucky, we get the gift from God to be parents. Days like today make me reflect on the joy God has granted me as a father. I had the fortune of experiencing the joy of what a father would be with Christine L Coker. A young lady that cared for our children, became a corner pillar of our family. The joy of watching a young lady grow up and the pride of who she would become.
Hadley is now 5. I so look forward to seeing her path in life. She has such great examples in her grandmothers, mother and big sister Christine. On birthdays, may all the fathers take time to reflect on the joy that God gives and the special gift that children give us. A bond that forever binds us.
